Jewel is a known CHG carrier and as such her show prospect puppies will be sold with the a copy of following contract.

 

I, Joan Stradling, hereinafter referred to as Seller, agree to sell one Toy Fox Terrier [description here], hereinafter referred to as Dog, to [buyer's name], hereinafter referred to as Buyer, for the sum of $2,000.00. Dog is a show prospect at this time, however due to the age of the puppy no guarantee is made regarding quality at maturity. This Dog is in good health with no evidence of illness to the best of the Seller's knowledge at the time of sale.

 

Buyer has 72 hours from the date of purchase to have Dog examined by their veterinarian. If Dog is found to have a debilitating congenital defect or any communicable disease by a licensed veterinarian within that 72 hour time period, and said veterinarian submits a written statement to the Seller, Seller will replace Dog with one of equal value.

 

Seller guarantees Dog against Von Willebrands Disease, for a period of one (1) year from the date of sale. If Dog is found to have the above-mentioned abnormality within that one (1) year time period by a licensed veterinarian, and a veterinarian statement and proof of alteration are forwarded to Seller, Seller will replace Dog with one of equal value. Buyer may retain possession of Dog or return him/her to Seller. Guarantee is void once Dog is bred. Buyer agrees not to sell or place Dog's offspring with persons affiliated with dog wholesalers, puppy mills, backyard breeders or animal research.

Buyer understands that Dog is a CHG carrier. As such, Buyer agrees not to breed Dog with another CHG carrier. Buyer acknowledges that Seller has provided some information on CHG and any further research will be the Buyer's responsibility. Buyer also agrees not to sell or place Dog's offspring until CHG testing is completed for each offspring at Buyer's expense.

 

If at any time Buyer is unable to continue ownership of Dog, Buyer agrees to contact Seller, prior to placement or sale of Dog. Seller retains right to reclaim Dog should Buyer discontinue ownership. The Dog may not be sold, surgically altered without the prior written consent of Seller. Buyer also stipulates that Dog will receive quality veterinary care and be a housed appropriately for this breed. Dog shall also be maintained on a quality diet such as Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy/Adult. Buyer may at any time return Dog to Seller. All shipping costs incurred are the responsibility of the Buyer. Seller may also reclaim dog should buyer fail to keep him in acceptable condition and should his health and welfare be at risk.

Seller assumes no responsibility for the Dog after leaving Seller's premises. All medical or veterinary expenses, CHG testing of Dog's offspring, and any other reason not stated above are Buyer's sole responsibility. Any breach of the Contract by Buyer will result in ownership of Dog reverting immediately to Seller. Buyer has read and fully understood the foregoing and agrees to all parts and portions thereof constituting a legal and binding agreement.
